Suggested Station Intro

Now playing One People Under God by SayItWithASong, a reggae-inspired song of unity, gratitude, faith, and hope from the independent label Say It With A Song.

About the Song

One People Under God was written and produced by Joseph David Murphy and released under the artist name SayItWithASong through the independent label Say It With A Song.

Written during a season of recovery, reflection, and gratitude, the song expresses a simple conviction: before our differences, before our borders, before our politics, we are one people created by God.

Born in Toronto, Canada, Joseph later spent seven years living in Mexico, eight years living in Texas, and now resides in Central Florida. Along the way he developed a deep appreciation for people from every background, especially the Jamaican community, whose warmth, faith, culture, and love of music helped inspire the spirit of this recording.

The lyric “my heart still beating” comes from personal experience. Following two heart attacks and a difficult season of recovery, Joseph found himself with a renewed gratitude for life, family, friendship, and the mercy of God.

While proud of his adopted homeland, the United States of America, the message of this song reaches beyond any single nation. It is a reminder that every person we meet shares the same humanity, the same need for mercy, and the same Creator.

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
Mark 12:30-31, KJV
